Merit Badges

Message for Scouters

Merit badges complement the outdoors in the development of our scouts.  Scouters can help strengthen the troop by becoming a MB counselor.  Share your skills and interests so that the youth gains a broader perspective of the world.

Message for Scouts

It is the responsibility of the scout to initiate work on a MB and to seek out the counselor by communicating with the appropriate leaders.  The adults have volunteered their time to be a counselor; please understand that they have many other responsibilities too, so reach out to them with enough lead time for you and your counselor to work on the MB in a meaningful way.  The schedule and logistics for each MB are at the discretion of each counselor.

You can work on merit badges at summer camp, as part of an outing, or on your own.  The requirements for a merit badge can be found by searching on the Internet for “[Name of Merit Badge] merit badge requirements”.  Replace the search term with the actual name of the merit badge.  Ask your parents for permission and help, if needed.  Our Library has merit badge pamphlets you can check out to help you work on the requirements.
